Design Director

What do you do at Urban Communities? 

I am the Design Director in charge of the design of the properties we acquire.  Part of what I do is to build our brand image and design to be consistent across all of our properties, using the same colors in buildings and in our interior colors to create the Urban Communities “signature look” while customizing the property to the needs of our residents. I am also involved in the design of the apartments being remodeled, working closely with our construction crew, supervising all the construction design aspects.

What is your experience? 

I have over 40 years of experience in design, construction and project management.  I was in charge of the design, construction and project management of all plants and corporate offices in my family business. I have extensive experience in the design of homes, airplanes, yachts, historical haciendas, homes and multifamily apartment buildings.

How did you get into the industry? 

I was involved in my family business in the administrative side. As our company grew to be an international company, I took over all the design, construction and project management worldwide.

What are your hobbies and interests? 

Design is my passion and one of my favorite hobbies. I also love music, theater, opera and musicals.

What is the best piece of advice you have been given?

My husband would always tell me, “Behind every crisis, challenge 4or change, there is opportunity. You just need to find it.”
